First Thursday Artwalk – May

One of the most amazing things about Portland is our love of art and all things creative. In our non-monogamous lifestyle we combine our love of art, along with our love of sex and we have several venues that host erotic art galleries. The following is a listing of those places, information about their galleries, and how you can view them. We will also talk a bit about the artists who are featured there when the information is available.

Gallery Privata

Gallery Privata is well known for all things stylish and posh, but their Art Gallery is one of the featured aspects of the establishment. On Thursday May 3rd, 2018 Gallery Privata will be celebrating an opening of the artistry of two unique but distinctly different artists.

Hooligan Lili is an illustrator/designer who also curates the Dirty Little Secrets Art Gallery at Kinkfest, and designs the layouts for the Seattle Erotic Art Festival catalog. Kink and erotica have always held a fascination for Lili ever since she found her brother’s stash of Playboys when she was a kid. Her style is heavily influenced by Echo Chernik and Janet Lee, due to her time creating a steampunk-esque comic in the early 2010s. Her work has been shown at Dirty Little Secrets Art Gallery, Gallery Sesso, Club Privata, Seattle Erotic Art Festival, and private clubs and coffee shops in the area. Her comic illustrations have been showcased in multiple San Diego Comic Con souvenir programs. Lili has also donated work to a number of charity auctions including the Women of Wonder fund raising campaign, Twitter Art Exhibit, and the Portland Timbers Community Fund. A native to the Pacific Northwest, Lili currently resides in Portland, Oregon. You can see more of Lili’s work at hooliganlili.com

Deviant Femme Tarot
After a long absence, Hooligan Lili is back with a new project to share with you. Deviant Femme Tarot is an adaptation of tarot cards into the realm of feminism, eroticism, and sadism. The first eleven cards of the Major Arcana illustrate the juxtaposition of divination, religion, and kink in what will ultimately become an entire tarot deck over the course of the year. Each card stays in line with the tarot symbology, but deviates from the norm by using only the female figure in all positions of power. Come to the art opening at Club Privata to see what these watercolor illustrated cards hold in store for you.

Daniel Bower – Originally wanting to design a tattoo for himself, Daniel found his designs were a unique style which could work well across many mediums. Simple sketches have been recreated as paintings which encourage the audience to view the essence of a figure while creating and interpreting the beauty in their mind.

Daniel is a native to Central Oregon who enjoys the many aspects of living in this area. With his daughter closely involved in many projects, they have recently built a paddle board and spend much of their time on the rivers and lakes. He has a career as a software developer which allows him to pursue his interests and dreams in his free time.

Discovery, adventure, and travel are high priorities for Daniel. You will find he is passionate about experiencing as much and as many aspects of life as possible.

Club Privata will be hosting a Public art opening of these artists’ fine work, with no door fee and no membership requirement, from 6-8pm on Thursday May 3, 2018. Come view the art, talk with the artists, and sample some of the tasty beverages from local breweries, wineries and distillers.
